Planned migration

Hello again everyone.  After an unplanned break that came about mostly since there is no iOS app for blogger, I decided to post this snippet here.

I just got back from Atmosphere Conf 2026 in Vancouver, and had a blast while I was there.  Saw some great talks and volunteered on the registration booth for a few shifts.  This has put the fediverse back into the front of my mind and it is time for this blog to migrate to the fediverse as well.

There are some great options on AT Protocol, such as Leaflet, Pckt (Pocket), and offprint.  These three are working towards unified lexicons in the Atmosphere for long form publishing, see more here.

On top of this blog, I am exploring with the Cirrus single user PDS created by Matt Kane [github].  A small PDS for users that takes advantage of serverless infrastructure and Cloudflare workers, meaning a nearly free service for most people, with the advantage of owning their own data from end to end now.  I have been on the Bluesky image PDS through Digital Ocean for about a year now but if I can drop that bill from $8 to pennies, its an even better deal for me.  (I also just upgraded my personal server to a Hetzner auction server, so my costs there ballooned over the weekend, so I'm shaving every cent I can).

I look forward to seeing people on my new home once I am migrated. I'll post once more with my new site once I have it up and running.  Take care ya'll
